However busy the UK sports betting scene becomes, new brands continue to appear. That level of competition means bettors have more options to compare, and operators tend to respond by adjusting their products. BetStorm is one of the more recent launches, and this BetStorm review sets out the main details about the brand.
The sections below cover BetStorm’s offers and their conditions, its markets and its features, along with how it compares with other UK-licensed sportsbooks.
Some operating companies concentrate on a single brand, as is the case with the companies behind Betfred and BoyleSports.

Others take a different approach and run several brands at once.
ProgressPlay falls into the latter category. It has launched a large number of brands in recent years, with BetStorm being one of a series of its sportsbooks. ProgressPlay sportsbooks are generally described as all-rounders with a wide range of betting markets, though they tend to have fewer special features and no mobile apps.
BetStorm UK is one of the newer ProgressPlay brands, having launched in 2021. It is based in Malta, like its parent company, and holds betting licences in multiple jurisdictions.
When people compare betting sites, security is often among the factors considered, given that personal information and money are both involved, and it makes sense to want clarity on how each is managed.
In researching this BetStorm review, we noted that the site documents its approach to player safety in some detail. BetStorm UK describes its security measures openly, and these include SSL encryption and a firewall. It also uses established payment providers to process transactions and states that it has anti-fraud measures in place.
BetStorm UK holds licences with both the UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority. This means the sportsbook operates within those regulatory frameworks, including the UK rules on fairness, customer funds and player protection tools.
Most British sportsbooks run an offer for new customers, and BetStorm UK is no different. The BetStorm new customer offer is open to eligible newcomers who register an account, and it is a fairly standard introduction to the brand rather than an unusual one.
The offer follows the ‘Bet X, Get Y’ structure common in the UK market. It requires a £10 qualifying wager to trigger, after which a £30 free bet is credited, subject to the terms and conditions. In practical terms, the stated value matches the minimum deposit and stake, though other UK operators advertise offers with larger headline amounts. As with all such promotions, wagering requirements, minimum odds and expiry periods apply, and there is no guarantee of a return.
Alongside the welcome offer, BetStorm lists a few other promotions, which we look at in more detail later in this BetStorm.com review. The table below summarises three of them and their key conditions.
| BetStorm UK Offer | Offer Description | Wager Requirement | Min Qualifying
Odds |
Offer
Expiry |
Min
Deposit |
| Sports Welcome Offer | Bet £10, Get £30 Free Bet | 1x | 1/2 (1.50) | 7 Days | £10 |
| Casino Welcome Offer | 100% Match, Up to £100 | 50x | N/A | 7 Days | N/A |
| Tennis Cashback Deal | Up to £500 Cashback on Tennis Bets | 0x | N/A | 7 Days | £10 |
This BetStorm review opens by looking at several of the areas a prospective customer may want to understand – in particular the safety features of the brand, and the terms of its welcome offer.
The next part of this BetStorm.com review goes into more detail, examining how the sportsbook compares in areas such as user-friendliness, live betting, and more.
The user interface matters when an account is used over a long period, as a smooth and intuitive layout affects the day-to-day experience.
In general, we found this site straightforward to use during our testing for this BetStorm sportsbook review. The first impression is muted, with a dull colour scheme and a fairly cluttered appearance. Within a couple of minutes, though, most users will find their way around. Navigating the available markets is simple, helped by a search function, as is accessing and using the account management tools.
We also found the platform performed consistently throughout our BetStorm review. Pages loaded quickly, and we encountered no crashes.
Live betting is a standard feature on modern sportsbooks, offering a different way to place wagers while an event is in progress. The live betting tools here are well developed, and are a notable aspect of our BetStorm sportsbook review.
The live betting markets can be reached at any time via a permanent menu to the left of the screen. Placing a wager is quick, as is cashing one out. Usefully, the site indicates which markets will be eligible for cash out before a wager is placed, via a small dollar icon next to that bet type.
ProgressPlay sportsbooks do not typically carry extensive additional features, and that pattern holds in this BetStorm sportsbook review. There is no live streaming, for example, and no mobile app.
That said, some tools are available. The interface offers a degree of flexibility through its ‘Multiview’ and ‘Overview’ features. These let you decide which in-play matchups to keep an eye on, rather than choosing between ‘one’ and ‘loads’. Elsewhere, while there isn’t technically a ‘bet builder’, a small chain icon appears next to all bet types which are eligible to be combined.
This area is covered in more detail in the next section of our BetStorm review. For now, note that we have assessed and analysed the BetStorm sports betting odds. In general, while they are not the sharpest prices on the market, they are broadly in line with comparable sites.
This is another area examined more closely later in this Bet Storm review. ProgressPlay brands tend to offer well-staffed customer service, and that is also the case with the BetStorm sports betting site.
The BetStorm welcome offer has already been outlined, and is revisited in more detail later in this Bet Storm review. Once that initial offer has been used, other promotions are available, each subject to its own terms and conditions.
The main route to a BetStorm free bet is the loyalty scheme, called the ‘Rewards Programme’. As is usually the case, points accumulate in line with the amount wagered. Once enough points have been collected, they can be exchanged for either a BetStorm bonus or other rewards such as cashback deals and free spins for the casino.
Another source of a BetStorm bonus is the Wager Wars leaderboard. Customers placing within the top five bettors on the platform within a given time frame can receive a prize of up to £150. This is paid in cash rather than free bets.
There are also two cashback offers. These apply specifically to tennis and F1 markets, with each BetStorm UK offer providing a rebate worth 10% of losses, in cash, for up to £500. Wagering and eligibility conditions apply to all of these promotions.
When comparing sportsbooks, the quality of the betting odds is one factor to consider. Prices do not have to be the sharpest available, since other factors – such as ease of use, special features, and the variety of betting markets – also play a part. What matters is that they are reasonable, since consistently low prices reduce the returns on any winning bets.
In our BetStorm review, we find a bookmaker with steady if unremarkable odds. At the time of writing, for example, a fresh round of the Champions League group stage is approaching. The odds in almost all the matchups sit close to those on 888sport – one of BetStorm’s competitors on the UK market. In no cases are they noticeably higher, but nor are they significantly lower.
We also noted that prices on Bet Storm change frequently to reflect the latest betting activity. These movements are marked clearly with green and red arrows, which makes it easier to see how a price has shifted before a wager is placed. Betting always carries a risk of loss, and support is available from GamCare.
The range of markets is one of the more notable areas covered in our BetStorm review, and other BetStorm reviews tend to make the same observation. The selection is broad, covering a wide spread of sports and bet types. Below, we’ve broken those BetStorm sports betting options down into three key areas.
Football is the biggest online betting sport in the UK, and – unsurprisingly, therefore – is also the focus for most sportsbooks. This is the case for BetStorm too. The football section here had over 1,200 upcoming matchups listed at the time of writing. The next closest, by comparison, was tennis with around 420.
Within those matchups, you’ll find competitions covered from all around the world. The variety in bet types available for the bigger matches is wide, with a typical Champions League game – for example – having over 530 individual betting markets. That number drops considerably in-play, though a reasonable spread of options remains, alongside competitive odds.
It doesn’t come close to football’s dominance, for online betting at least, but horse racing remains the second-most popular market with British bettors. As such, it is a common point of comparison between UK bookmakers.
We did find a horse racing section during our testing for this BetStorm review, but it is narrower than many others we’ve looked at. There are no racecourses in the UK or Ireland listed. Instead, the coverage is limited solely to events in the USA. That still amounts to 12 different courses, covering dozens of races on most days. A wider selection would bring it closer to what other operators list.
Alongside the two large markets mentioned above, Bet Storm lists a wide range of other sports. In total we counted over 40 different options, which is more than some of the larger bookmakers cover.
Tennis, golf, cricket and rugby are all included, as are the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL. There are eSports markets too – including Dota 2 and LoL – and several motorsports, along with the UFC. The selection also extends to more niche markets, including water polo, kabaddi and sumo wrestling.
As noted earlier, a BetStorm bonus can be applied in a few different ways. The welcome offer carries the largest bonus amount, while the ongoing promotions also come with their own terms. All offers are subject to conditions.
Unusually for a modern-day sportsbook, Bet Storm does use promo codes for all of its ongoing promotions. The welcome offer can be activated without a code, but a specific BetStorm UK offer for existing customers requires one. To access the Wager Wars leaderboard, for example, a bet must be placed using the code ‘22SEP’. For the Tennis Cashback BetStorm UK offer, the code ‘SERVE’ is required.
These codes must be entered when a BetStorm deposit is made. If they are not, the offer in question cannot be applied.
We found BetStorm straightforward to use during our testing, and other BetStorm reviews report much the same. That applies from the outset, with the following being the steps involved in setting up and using an account on Bet Storm.

The registration process begins on the BetStorm home page, via the green Join Now button in the top-right. The first page asks for an email address and phone number, plus a password, followed by Submit. The second page requests further personal details, including name and date of birth. A further Submit then creates the account.

BetStorm login details give access to the account, and the Cashier button sits along the top menu. Deposit is listed among the options on the left, followed by a choice of the available methods. The required payment information and an amount are entered, and Deposit confirms the payment.
Once an account is funded, wagers can be placed in the main sportsbook area, choosing a sport from the list on the left-hand side. Selecting the odds next to a bet type within a chosen matchup adds it to the betslip. A stake is then set and the wager confirmed, and the process can be repeated as required.

Withdrawals are only possible once the BetStorm verification process is complete. It is a simple process, and it helps to prevent fraud. It starts in the Cashier section, this time via Verify ID in the list to the left. Each option (Identity Card, Address, or Payment) requires a clear image of a relevant piece of ID to be uploaded.
Once identity has been verified, funds can be withdrawn from the account balance. This is handled in the Cashier area, via Withdrawal in the left-hand menu. A withdrawal method is selected, any further payment details are provided if necessary, and the amount is entered before the payout request is confirmed. The resulting BetStorm withdrawal time depends on the payment method chosen.
Mobile access is now a significant part of how betting sites are used. For many British customers, mobile betting apps have replaced desktop platforms as their usual method of placing bets.
BetStorm has taken a different approach in this area. At the time of writing, there is no downloadable BetStorm mobile app. This is the case across all ProgressPlay brands, and it distinguishes BetStorm from a number of competitors that do offer native apps.
Instead of an app, BetStorm can be accessed through the mobile version of its main website. In our testing, this functioned as a workable substitute. The same markets, offers and account management tools are present, so the functionality matches the desktop platform. The interface has been adapted to smaller screen sizes, and – during our testing for this BetStorm review – loading and navigation were consistent.
The details of the sign-up offer were set out earlier in this BetStorm review. This section explains the mechanics behind it, and the conditions that apply. The stated process involves the following steps:
As the steps show, this is a fairly standard ‘Bet and Get’ welcome offer in structure. The one variation is the 1x rollover requirement, and no minimum odds are specified for that stage. Other conditions to be aware of are that the free bet expires after seven days, and that the maximum conversion amount (i.e. the maximum free bet winnings) is capped at £200. Terms and conditions apply, and any offer of this type carries requirements that should be read in full.
Payment options vary considerably between bookmakers, and the range available is one point of comparison. Below is what we recorded during our research for this BetStorm review.
There are eight different ways to fund a BetStorm account. Visa / Mastercard and Trustly (for bank transfers) cover the more traditional routes. Alongside these are the PayPal, ecoPayz, MuchBetter and Apple Pay eWallets, the Paysafecard prepaid card, and PayviaPhone. Deposits are processed instantly, and the minimum amounts are in line with what other sites ask for.
Withdrawals are more limited, with just two options: Visa / Mastercard and ecoPayz. Prepaid products such as Paysafecard cannot generally be used for withdrawals, but the absence of PayPal and MuchBetter is notable given that both can be used to deposit. Users are also charged a 1% transaction fee – of up to £3 – on withdrawals.
| Banking Method | Withdrawal Fees | Min. Deposit | Min. Withdrawal | BetStorm Withdrawal Time |
| Visa/Mastercard | 1% | £10 | £2.50 | 3-7 Business Days |
| ecoPayz | 1% | £20 | £2.50 | 3 Business Days |
| Bank Transfer | N/A | £10 | N/A | N/A |
| PayPal | N/A | £10 | N/A | N/A |
| MuchBetter | N/A | £20 | N/A | N/A |
| Paysafecard | N/A | £10 | N/A | N/A |
| PayviaPhone | N/A | £10 | N/A | N/A |
Account or betting queries can arise on any platform over time, so the support channels a site provides are worth understanding before signing up anywhere.
At BetStorm, there is no customer service telephone number listed. Contact with the support team is available directly through live chat, which the site states is open 24/7. For less time-sensitive queries, there is also an email address, along with a Help Centre containing written guidance on common topics. Customers who want to discuss their gambling can find free, confidential support through GamCare.
Throughout this BetStorm review we have aimed to give a balanced, factual picture of the brand. To summarise, here are the main strengths and limitations we noted during our testing for this BetStorm review.
Like most gambling brands, this platform has both a sportsbook and a casino. No BetStorm review, therefore, would be complete without also covering the BetStorm casino section.
The BetStorm casino covers the usual subsections, including slots, table games, live dealer titles, jackpots, and casual games. These can be navigated via either the search tool or by game provider. The slot selection is broad (including titles such as Book of Dead and Fishin’ Frenzy), while the table games area includes blackjack, roulette, and similar formats.
Finally, the BetStorm casino area also has its own selection of special offers, including cashback deals and profit boosts. These are more varied than the sports offers we found during this BetStorm review, although most carry a sizable rollover requirement, so the full terms and conditions are worth reading.
If you have used a ProgressPlay brand before, the setup here will be familiar. If not, then – as this BetStorm review sets out – this is a broadly capable sportsbook, albeit with a couple of weaknesses.
BetStorm carries a wide selection of betting markets. The interface is straightforward to use, there are a number of ongoing promotions, each with its own conditions, and the customer service performed well in our tests.
The lack of extra features – such as live streaming or a mobile app – will matter to some readers, as will the transaction fee applied to withdrawals. Overall, across our time with this BetStorm review, we found more strengths than shortcomings. The £30 sign up bonus is subject to terms and conditions, including wagering requirements, which should be read in full before deciding whether the site suits you. Betting involves risk and losses are the usual outcome; GamCare provides free, confidential support.
