Prestbury Park hosts the Shloer Chase and return of Jonbon, plus an early Albert Bartlett Trial in the Hyde Novices&#8217; Hurdle.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere on the card, the Cross Country Handicap Chase sees Conflated tackle the banks for the first time off topweight. There is also a Listed novice chase for stayers with quality over quantity.<\/p>\n<p>Bigger fields top and tail the card in conditional jockeys&#8217; and novice handicap hurdles. That is where punters must look for value on <a href=\"https:\/\/bettingsitesreviewed.co.uk\/horse-racing\/\">horse racing betting sites<\/a> with the feature contests attracting fewer runners during this dry autumn.<\/p>\n<p>As ever, we&#8217;ve called in the experts for their assessment and analysis of the action taking place at the home of jumps reason. They mark your card for Friday&#8217;s action here:<\/p>\n<h2>Cheltenham November Meeting 2024 Day 1 Preview<\/h2>\n<h3>1:10 &#8211; 2m 5f Class 3 Conditional Jockeys&#8217; Handicap Hurdle (0-125)<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10994 alignright\" title=\"Double Powerful silks\" src=\"https:\/\/bettingsitesreviewed.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Double_Powerful_silks.png\" alt=\"Double Powerful silks\" width=\"128\" height=\"200\" \/>Wide-open but two of the three penalised runners quickly turned out appeal more than most. The booking of stable conditional Geraoid Harney on last year&#8217;s winner\u00a0<strong>American Sniper <\/strong>that offsets most of his 7lb extra weight is attractive in a repeat bid for David Pipe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DOUBLE POWERFUL <\/strong>is 4lb well-in despite his own similar penalty, however, and just keeps on winning. One of two in the race for Neil Mulholland, this five-year-old has picked up where he left off in the spring with a hat-trick of wins this autumn. Dylan Johnston gets on well with Double Powerful and a six-timer could well beckon.<\/p>\n<p>Plenty of others have claims. Pipe&#8217;s other runner\u00a0<strong>Phantomofthepoints\u00a0<\/strong>should appreciate this longer trip on breeding, while Fergal O&#8217;Brien inmate <strong>Plaisir Des Flos <\/strong>is another in-form horse after five wins this calendar year.\u00a0<strong>Il Va De Soi <\/strong>seeks a hat-trick for Harry Derham and jockey Alice Stevens, meanwhile.<\/p>\n<p>Lower down the weights, although there&#8217;s been no recent winner rated below 114, the likes of Irish raider\u00a0<strong>Billy Lee Swagger<\/strong>, Jonjo O&#8217;Neill runner\u00a0<strong>Stay If U Want To\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Rebel Intentions\u00a0<\/strong>could all go well. April Meeting second <strong>Whatsupwithou<\/strong> is also worth a mention with 10lb claimer Callum Pritchard booked to ease a welter burden.<\/p>\n<h3>1:45 &#8211; Listed 3m 110y Paddy Power Novices&#8217; Chase<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10995 alignright\" title=\"Springwell Bay silks\" src=\"https:\/\/bettingsitesreviewed.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Springwell_Bay_silks.png\" alt=\"Springwell Bay silks\" width=\"131\" height=\"200\" \/>The form pick from the quartet is\u00a0<strong>SPRINGWELL BAY<\/strong>. His Chepstow win for Jonjo O&#8217;Neill and son has been franked since by the third, Boombawn, landing a Grade 2 around Wincanton last weekend. Springwell Bay only needed pushing out to score quite cosily down over an extended 2m 3f on his chase bow and today&#8217;s longer trip should be no problem.<\/p>\n<p>Course and distance winner\u00a0<strong>Hyland\u00a0<\/strong>gets 2lb from the selection, but concedes 3lb to the other two. Nicky Henderson&#8217;s charge routed his rivals during The Showcase, but the Cheltenham November Meeting demands more of him. The tailed off fifth has won since, but it&#8217;s not the same level of form.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resplendent Grey\u00a0<\/strong>has something to find on hurdles form with Springwell Bay off worse terms. Olly Murphy&#8217;s runner could make up into an even better chaser, but needs to improve.<\/p>\n<p>Similar comments apply to <strong>Buddy One<\/strong>, who won over hurdles here 12 months ago. He tops official ratings, but that is down to his Stayers&#8217; Hurdle fourth than anything achieved over fences.<\/p>\n<h3>2:20 &#8211; 1m 7f 199y Grade 2 Shloer Chase<\/h3>\n<p><iframe title=\"FULL RACE: Jonbon wins the Shloer Chase\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Lv2BMI9dVag?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10921 alignright\" title=\"JP McManus silks\" src=\"https:\/\/bettingsitesreviewed.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/JP_McManus.jpg\" alt=\"JP McManus silks\" width=\"129\" height=\"200\" \/>There is nothing in the Cheltenham November Meeting opening day feature that the mighty\u00a0<strong>JONBON <\/strong>hasn&#8217;t beaten before or shouldn&#8217;t. Henderson and McManus have a real superstar and kingpin of the two-mile chase division on this side of the Irish Sea on their hands. What a pity this isn&#8217;t really a betting race with <a href=\"https:\/\/bettingsitesreviewed.co.uk\/\">online bookmakers<\/a> at current prices.<\/p>\n<p>Jonbon has the beating of old rival\u00a0<strong>Edwardstone<\/strong>, rising 11, and the pair concede 2lb for Harry Fry runner <strong>Boothill <\/strong>and Dan Skelton&#8217;s Grand Annual hero <strong>Unexpected Party<\/strong>. The latter turns out quickly just four days after his last run. Granted a clear round, this is Jonbon&#8217;s to lose.<\/p>\n<h3>2:55 &#8211; 3m 5f 56y Class 2 Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10996 alignright\" title=\"Fameaftertheglory silks\" src=\"https:\/\/bettingsitesreviewed.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Fameaftertheglory_silks.png\" alt=\"Fameaftertheglory silks\" width=\"128\" height=\"200\" \/>Former Irish Gold Cup hero\u00a0<strong>Conflated\u00a0<\/strong>carries topweight on his first try in this discipline. With most of the field out of the handicap against him, he is an obvious starting point but a lack of Cross Country experience and a poor recent completion rate are negatives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FAMEAFTERTHE GLORY <\/strong>has a number of placed efforts over the banks; so, despite being out of the weights, can go well at bigger odds. Gavin Cromwell&#8217;s charge chased home stable companion Stumptown at Punchestown in the spring and has taken well to this sphere.<\/p>\n<p>If not Fameaftertheglory, then French raider\u00a0<strong>Sweet David\u00a0<\/strong>chased home useful Cross Country horse Roi Mage on his side of the Channel this autumn. A five-year-old is very young for the discipline, but Gabriel Leenders&#8217; runner was an unlucky loser the last day. Most of the others must prove they handle the different obstacles.<\/p>\n<h3>3:30 &#8211; 2m 5f Grade 2 Albert Bartlett Trial Hyde Novices&#8217; Hurdle<\/h3>\n<p><iframe title=\"VALGRAND dazzles for team Skelton at Cheltenham\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/z_yz9BjCPrk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10820 alignright\" title=\"Jimmy Fyffe silks\" src=\"https:\/\/bettingsitesreviewed.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Jimmy_Fyffe_silks.png\" alt=\"Jimmy Fyffe silks\" width=\"129\" height=\"200\" \/>Two Showcase winners head the betting for this Cheltenham November Meeting Grade 2.\u00a0<strong>Valgrand\u00a0<\/strong>is already a winner at this level after landing the Sharp Novices&#8217; Hurdle, but\u00a0<strong>GALE MAHLER\u00a0<\/strong>didn&#8217;t look off a yard that day and is now better off at the weights.<\/p>\n<p>Adrian Keatley&#8217;s mare steps up in trip after previously scoring twice over two-and-a-half miles. This greater stamina test could well suit Gale Mahler, who also gets weight from\u00a0<strong>Potters Charm<\/strong>. Trained locally by Nigel Twiston-Davies, he seeks a hurdles hat-trick on the upgrade following his Showcase success under a penalty.<\/p>\n<p>The others, headed by Chepstow scorer\u00a0<strong>Rockstown Girl<\/strong>, again over from Ireland, must improve on all-known form to have a say in the finish. Rounding out the field of six are Wetherby fifth Grandad&#8217;s Cap and hurdling debutant Wildfell.<\/p>\n<h3>4:00 &#8211; 2m 87y Class 3 Novices&#8217; Handicap Hurdle (0-125)<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10997 alignright\" title=\"Megsons silks\" src=\"https:\/\/bettingsitesreviewed.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Megsons_silks.png\" alt=\"Megsons silks\" width=\"129\" height=\"200\" \/>Day one of the Cheltenham November Meeting 2024 draws to a close with another competitive event.\u00a0<strong>Fasol\u00a0<\/strong>could be well-handicapped based on his Flat form and just a couple of hurdles outings for Paul Nicholls, but\u00a0<strong>WRECKLESS ERIC\u00a0<\/strong>would probably have won if he stood up on debut for the O&#8217;Neill stable last time.<\/p>\n<p>The assessor nudging him up 2lb for falling two out isn&#8217;t that harsh. Wreckless Eric came on for his reappearance when with Ben Pauling last term and may well do so again.\u00a0<strong>Letterston Lily\u00a0<\/strong>didn&#8217;t scream dropping back in trip was the answer with a far from fluent round of jumping when fourth over further here last time out.<\/p>\n<p>Ascot winner\u00a0<strong>Clap Of Thunder\u00a0<\/strong>could continue his progress, however, for Nigel and Sam Twiston-Davies at his local track. <strong>Golden Maverick\u00a0<\/strong>lacks a recent run, but has some good back form on the Flat like Fasol.
